做research到凌晨一两点，每天吃不完的车厘子，冠军扎堆….在来哈佛辩论营之前，我不知道原来summer camp可以这么玩。
What I’ve realized
When I was just in, I found that there were too many strong and brilliant debaters. ( a large number of native speakers and very few Chinese) Many of them have debated PF (public forum) for a long time. As for the Chinese debaters, most of them were from foreign language schools in coastal cities or they were ABCs. And they were all champions : champion in both novice and the opening group in NSDA ,outstanding awards in the final of The Star of Outlook… And there were also a second grader with TOEFL 110 and an11-year-old Chinese boy with TOEFL 119. It’s like … I’m just so weak.
From the octofinal, it’s like a face-offff between heavyweights. The last two flights were super wonderful!!!!!! I really loved MNM (a lab name) but I was upset that they didn't break to the final.
「我认识到的」
刚来的时候发现厉害的人太多了，native speaker太多中国人很少，而且很多都学PF(public forum)很久了，ABC也不少。至于国内的，都是北上广深南京的外国语，从新手组冠军到公开的冠军，再到全美亚军，希望之星特等奖第一名，还有初二托福 110和11岁托福119...... 我感觉自己就是乡下人进城太菜了。
从看八强开始就是本土选手神仙打架。最后两场超级精彩！我好喜欢MNM（这个lab的名字）但是他们没有进到决赛，我很 悲伤，他们真的又小又厉害，而且人也特别好特别可爱。
What I’ve learned
I didn’t take PF seriously before coming to the camp. It was not academically systematic. I had two lectures every day in Harvard. Cutting cards until the midnight; fifinishing skills training until 9 p.m. every day ; doing crossfifire and demo debate… These all became the basic elements in my life. And I've learned a lot and it seemed that I could write case systematically after that.
I met a group of exceptional and endearing friends as well! They are both excellent and rather outgoing. A girl from Nanjing left me with snacks in front of my dorm door when we were going to be apart. Additionally, tutors in my lab have debated for a long period of time with experience and I really loved them !!
I’ve got motivation and inspiration from the debaters surrounding me. And it’s like debating for a long time will cause schizomania lmao.
「我得到的」
我觉得在这之前我学的PF都是不认真也不系统的。在哈佛每天上2节大课，找evidence找到凌晨一两点，每天上课上到晚上九点钟，做crossfifire，预辩论，到正式的比赛。每天都熬夜写作业，睡不饱睡不好，但是我感觉我真的学到了很多。我好像也慢慢明白怎么系统地写case了。
我认识了一群优秀又可爱的朋友！其中一个南京小姐姐走的时候还给我门口放了小零食，我们的lab在打辩论方面也有相当丰富的经验。我真的很喜欢他们！
我觉得在这里得到最多的就是激励吧。这儿的很多人是冲着冠军去的。辩论就是精分现场。
What I've been proud
The highlight was that won three out of six rounds, that's sooo impressive! And we also beat native speakers in one round. And the judge praised that the rebuttal of my partner Freya and my case were excellent. Yeahhh
Then, whether I lost or won, I felt that I was making progress in each of the six flights, especially my summary with voter issues and weighing.
In the fififth round we lost because of the strange lay judge who only judged policy debate before.I met this kind of judges for the first time and I felt so unfair even cried. But we nearly broke which is amazing!!!
「我骄傲的」
最高兴的还是比赛，我们本来根本没打算赢的，结果最后赢了3场，一半一半，好开心！而且我们赢了1场native speaker, 裁判还夸了搭档的rebuttal和我的case。
六场比赛不论输赢，我觉得每一场我都在进步，特别是我的summary。一开始上大课听不懂的东西，后来都慢慢懂了也会用了。
还有一个就是遇到的比较迷的裁判（他之前是当的policy辩论的裁判.）判我们输的原因是我们的final focus 没有故事。我第一次遇到这种裁判，当时气哭了。但是想到以后还可能遇到很多次这种迷一样的裁判，就把它当做美好的经历吧。（差点了进了八分之一赛）
What I need to insist
I'm still so weak in debate. But I know that I’ve tried my best to shrink the gap.Looking through my diary that is awash with uneasiness and shame ,now at least I have a little more confifidence and experience anyway.
Sonny said that debate is a way to learn about the world. The lecturer in racism class told us, "u belong here so keep going."
I think I'll just keep going. I’m looking forward to meeting them again.
「我坚持的」
我依然十分无敌菜，明显感受到差距后回去肯定要好好修炼。翻看日记本看到我第一天写下的不安和自惭形秽，现在这种感觉依旧很强烈，但至少我多了点自信和经验，学到了很多。
Sonny（lab的老师）说辩论是你认识世界的一种方式，教授种族歧视课的老师同我们说：“你们属于这里，所以一定一定要坚持。’’
我觉得我会坚持的，希望再看到可爱的他们。
