学习使我快乐，终于结束了假期回归校园，和老师同学相伴一起读书学习了。学习并不枯燥，就像商业学这门实践性极强的学科，不论你在未来的职业生涯中做什么，在商业课中学到的知识都能助你一臂之力。
为什么这么说？本期『师说心语』，商业老师Ms.Klopper说“Why choose Business?”。
Why choose Business?
In the future everyone will need to have had a business education. Whatever you do in your professional life, the chances are that it will involve some ‘business’. Scientists, engineers, even artists, will inevitably have to understand at least the basics of business, and probably a lot more.
在未来每个人都必须学习商业。不论你在未来的职业生涯中做什么，都会与商业有一定的联系。科学家，工程师，甚至艺术家，都不可避免地需要懂得一定的商业知识，或许还不止一点而已。
In other words, the combination of a specialist qualification and business knowledge will become vital. Taking Business as a subject, is the first step towards an MBA, the most popular, sought after post-graduate qualification in the world.
换句话说，专家资格和商业知识之间的联系会变的举足轻重。把商业作为一门学科来学习，是通向全世界最流行的研究生资格考试MBA的第一步。
But it is not just ‘knowledge’ of business. Before embarking on a business education you need to ask yourself a basic question, ‘what should a business education give me?’
但是这不仅仅只是商业的“知识”，在开始学习商业这门课之前，你需要问自己一个基本的问题--“商业课程能够给我什么？”。
Business is a practical subject. It sounds obvious, but it seems too easily to be forgotten.
商业是一门实践性很强的学科。听起来显而易见，但大家似乎很容易忘记这一点。
Business can be compared with medicine. No doctor is allowed near a real live patient purely on the basis of book study (otherwise the patient would probably not be alive for very long!).
可以把商业和医学做比较。没有一个医生可以单纯的只用书本上的知识来治疗病人（如果这样的话病人的后期情况可能会十分糟糕！）。
How do doctors learn the practical skills? - They are taught by practising doctors, they make diagnoses of real situations under the guidance and supervision of practising doctors.
那么一个医生怎样才能学到实用的技能呢？——他们需要由经验丰富的医生来教导，在他们的指导和监督下对实际情况进行判断。
The reason why Business is considered a practical subject is that in business you have to DO things, take decisions, take action, and monitor results. You cannot operate any business by just planning what to do on paper. Planning is, of course, an important step in the process, but there are many examples of businesses which have had excellent plans but failed because no one implemented the ideas.
为何商业被看作一门实践性强的学科？因为在生意场上，在经营中，你必须得干实事，从决策到实施，到最后监测结果。纸上谈兵不会为你带来任何成功的生意。当然，计划是过程中重要的一步，但有很多虎头蛇尾的案例，无一不是拥有绝妙的计划，最终因无人实施而宣告失败。
To summarise, here are ten good reasons to choose Business as a subject:

1. Lots of job opportunities:
Business courses introduce you to marketing, human resources, accounting, ICT, customer care. Every organisation needs people who have these skills.

2. Increases your confidence:
Business courses are all about developing your interpersonal skills so that you feel more confident dealing with people in the workplace.

You will learn how to use the most up-to-date ICT Microsoft packages. If you have great ICT skills you will be immediately effective in the workplace.

4. Improves your communication:
Business people need to be able to write reports, letters, and e-mails, deliver presentations or negotiate deals with customers. We also develop your listening skills and raise awareness of the importance of body language.
