The AMC （American Mathematics Contest）10/12 was hold in our school on 16th February successfully. There were more than 100 students participated the competition.
The Mathematical Association of America’s American Mathematics Competitions program leads the US in strengthening the mathematical capabilities of the next generation of problem-solvers. Through classroom resources and friendly competition, the MAA AMC program helps America’s educators identify talent and foster a love of mathematics. The MAA AMC program positively impacts the analytical skills needed for future careers in an innovative society.
The American Mathematics Competitions are a series of examinations and curriculum materials that build problem-solving skills and mathematical knowledge in middle and high school students.
2月16日我校作为AMC中国四川赛区的考点之一，成功举办了第68届AMC全美数学竞赛。来自我校竞赛班、国际部、平行班的百余名数学爱好者参加了此次竞赛。
剑桥课程中心学生参与度极高，十分积极，高一年级约有33人报考，约占此次竞赛总报考人数的26%；高二年级约8人左右，约占报考AMC12人数的26%。
在此次竞赛中我校学子在竞赛的各方面都表现出了高度的纪律性和自觉性。
AMC是American Mathematics Competition是美国数学竞赛的缩写，由美国数学协会（Mathematics Association of America）于1950年成立。试题由简至难，测验的问题都很具挑战性，但测验的题型都不会超过学生的学习范围，使任何程度的学生都能感受到挑战，还可以筛选出特有天赋者。这项竞赛是为所有喜爱数学的学生所开发的，因此受到全球越来越多的数学爱好者的喜爱。具了解，在中国每年大约有30000余名学生参加。
现在AMC不但成为美国顶尖数学人才的人才库，其成绩还成为了评估申请入学者在数学科目上学习成就的依据。由于AMC考试成绩国际通行，因此在世界不同地区参加AMC考试，成为学生增加国际竞赛经验，提升学生国际化学习和竞赛背景，提高入学竞争力的重要途径。斯坦福、麻省理工、加州理工等理工科牛校会把AMC12和AIME（美国数学邀请赛）的成绩作为录取学生的重要指标。
每年AMC竞赛成绩将在2月底或3月初公布，在此预祝各位学子取得理想的竞赛成绩。
